World Education Program

World Education Program (WEP) is an Australian not-for-profit that seeks to further cultural understanding by placing overseas high schoolers with volunteer Australian host families for several months, a semester or a year.

Please find an electronic version here.

At a glance:

  • Host families choose their student.
  • Students are high calibre applicants from countries including Italy, Argentina, Canada, Belgium and France.
  • Students add colour to any family and are wonderful role models for Australia’s younger generations.
"Hosting has been such a rewarding opportunity that allowed us to experience an entirely different culture and explore the wonderful diversity that the world holds. We have created an incredible bond and cultivated and unforgettable friendship.” - Host mum, Kay.

Come and support the great work that the Lions Club does in our community by coming to the scenic Cherry Lakes to grab a bargain. There is something for everyone. Stalls include hand-knitted goods, handmade candles, plants (including orchids and ferns), fruits and vegetables, flowers, clothing, souvenirs, confectionery, preserves, handmade wooden toys and furniture, sports gear and garden tools as well as secondhand treasures of all sorts.
