Cherry Lakes Lions Club market – Sunday 3rd December

Come and support the great work that the Lions Club does in our community by coming to the scenic Cherry Lakes to grab a bargain.

It is on the first Sunday of every month from 8am to 2pm.

There is something for everyone. Stalls include hand-knitted goods, candles, plants (including orchids and ferns), fruits and vegetables, flowers, clothing, souvenirs, confectionery, preserves, handmade wooden toys and furniture, sports gear and garden tools as well as secondhand treasures of all sorts.

You can also purchase the famous Lions Xmas cakes and puddings.

Hobsons Bay Libraries

Food for Fines

Please find attached the flyer for our Food for Fines program at Hobsons Bay Libraries. This initiative sees our patrons donating items of non-perishable food in exchange for overdue library fines between Monday 13 November and Sunday 10 December. One item of food clears up to $10 in overdue charges. These donated items are then packaged into hampers by emergency relief agencies in Hobsons Bay and distributed to local families in need.

This initiative is a great way for families to give back to the community during the festive season. It may also allow some of your families to reengage with the library for the first time in a while. Library fines can often become a barrier for families, and this is a cost-effective and wonderful way for our patrons to clear their fines and also come back to the library.

We also welcome donations from patrons who don’t have any fines to clear.
